Yes, You Read Right, I am a Cheater Saturday, Feb 26 2011

In my last blog, I admitted to cheating on the weekends. I need to set the record straight, since I am a woman of integrity (I like to think so anyways, you would have to ask someone who knew me in college, since that is clearly where my personality was formed). I give you evidence of outfits I have worn not in my 30×30. And no, these are not just pajamas and work out clothes. They are full-on going out clothes (I refrain from cheating at work, the Nerd would look negatively on that, plus I don’t want it to take 3 years for me to get 30 outfits out of this. That would really defeat the purpose).

Ok, so this one isn’t so bad. Although you can’t see them, I am wearing my navy Express jeans and my nude Franco Sarto pumps from my 30. (Top: Brown Eyed Girl)

This one is a little worse, but I am still wearing my black dollhouse pumps (not pictured), which are in my 30. (Top: Target, Skirt: Express)

This I have no excuse for, and worst of all it was last night after admitting to the world that I am a cheater. To make matters worse, I don’t know the name of the store where I got this dress. I know it was on Magazine Street in New Orleans and the designer is called Moon Collection, but I failed to make note of the boutique name. Shame, shame, shame. The gray pumps I am wearing (not pictured) are from Lotus Boutique.

Being a Good Friend’s Pitfalls Friday, Feb 25 2011

Being the good friend that I am, I allowed my friend who I will refer to as Creole Lady borrow a few dresses last weekend to wear out. No biggie, we swap clothes all the time. It turns out there is just one problem: she took two of my 30×30 dresses back to her house. While I know I will get them back eventually, Creole Lady has a bad habit of procrastinating when it comes to returning my clothes. I still have a significant number of outfits left before I reach the intended 30 (I have been cheating on the weekends occasionally), so I will have to blitzkrieg her home in the next couple of days so that I bring my dresses to their rightful home in my rotation.

Day 15

Carnival Time! Thursday, Feb 24 2011

I love Mardi Gras. I think it is about 30% of the reason that I moved to Mobile (that is probably a gross exaggeration, but whatever). Not only are purple, green and gold three of my favorite colors, but I admittedly enjoy the general revelry (i.e. food, drink, fabulous outfits, parades, dancing, basic merriment). Not that I have used up my quota for parenthesis, I better get to the last couple 30×30 outfits. I think I will try to write a blog about Mardi Gras once I get some good pictures.

Day 13

One of Those Days Tuesday, Feb 22 2011

The night before last I woke up at 4am and could not get back to sleep until about 8am. The next day followed suit and I was basically worthless. I managed to get make-up on my skirt, I was generally wrinkled and my hair looked like I just rolled out of bed. After returning home I continued to accomplish nothing except napping and hanging out with my dog. Oh, I did watch an entire 2 hour episode of the Bachelor.

Day 12

It’s Starting to Get Weird Thursday, Feb 17 2011

I am finally starting to see how remixing can help me with future wardrobe choices. I am also learning that taking pictures of yourself every day you become wackier and wackier. Today, I posed with my friend Manny:

Day 11

So, This is Awkward… Thursday, Feb 17 2011

Yeah, it has been a while since I have updated. I am sorry to all my fans out there (I know there are so many of you), but on the bright side I get to show off a whole array of outfits all at once. And, in no particular order:

This was my “I got the blues” outfit, so I felt that it was only proper to photograph it in my blue bedroom. I guess I should have made the bed, but it’s the blues, man, and it is dirty. Dress: Brown Eyed Girl, Sweater and tights: Target, Shoes: Shoe Carnival, Belt: Red Dress Boutique

Day 7

Day 8

This is my attempt at being trendy. I love this because I can wear it to the office and to the bars. Also, I think I am getting much better at photographing myself. I picked a reasonable spot that looks cute and I am almost centered! Top: Francesca’s Collections, Pants: Express, Shoes: Marshall’s (Dollhouse)

Day 9

This, for anyone who does not work with me, is Exploreum Green. Sometimes I like to feel like part of the team even though I work upstairs in the office. Top: Limited, Skirt: Anthropologie, Shoes: Shoe Carnival

Day 10

The Nerd and I were feeling metropolitan on our way to lunch yesterday.  Sweater: New York & Co, Skirt: Limited, Shoes: Marshall’s (Dollhouse), Tights: Target

Apologies to the Nerd Wednesday, Feb 9 2011

Well, as I suspected, it took me a few days to get mt pictures together for the last couple of days. I left my camera at work, didn’t utilize my break to upload pictures and found ways to generally procrastinate putting up my last couple of pictures. But I am now trying to wisely utilize my time (by staying at work after my shift).

Anyhow, this would not have been a problem except for the fact that I also had all of my friend the Nerd’s photos on my camera as well. I would like to extend my apologies to her for making my procrastination her procrastination.

Day 7

My First Self Portrait Sunday, Feb 6 2011

For this challenge I purchased a new camera, and yesterday, I learned a new trick with it. I can now officially shoot photos on a delay, so I can take some of my pictures by myself. While I love this feature, my dog seems to really hate it. It upsets her and makes her jump all over the place. Here are the couple of shots I could get without my pup blocking me.

Day 5

My Celebrity Makeover Friday, Feb 4 2011

Today will be my first two outfit day, as I have to work and have my fabulous friend the Nerd‘s birthday party this evening. We will be celebrating in style at one of my favorite downtown watering holes. The place serves Mexican food and Sushi, I mean COME ON!

The first outfit is the one that I am most afraid of repeating. I love it, it is comfortable, and I don’t have to put any effort into it; it is really too easy. Top: Brown Eyed Girl, Jeans: Express, Shoes: Target, Necklace: Francescas.

Day 4

I like this photo because my hands are blurry. Fun times.

After a trip to my amazing hairstylist, Angela at TMac, I was a whole new woman. This, by the way, was an out-of-the-blue hair overhaul. I went in to get my eyebrows done and next thing I know I am getting the red-carpet treatment!

The transformation

I have to say, I LOVE this outfit. And the hair. I just felt fierce. Dress: Loft, Sweater: Brown Eyed Girl, Shoes: Shoe Carnival, Belt: Red Dress Boutique, Tights: Target.

Day 4 part 2

Whimsical Doesn’t Have to be Crazy Thursday, Feb 3 2011

I like purple. A lot. So, yes, I get carried away sometimes. This may have happened today. You tell me.

Regardless, at least the Nerd let me stay inside for our impromptu photo session today. We both looked (and felt) much more relaxed. So far, the challenge has been easy, but we have a long way to go!
